GEN VIC’s 2026 Victorian Election Priorities

Gender Equity Victoria (GEN VIC) is proud to share our 2026 Victorian Election Priorities, a practical roadmap for advancing gender equity in Victoria over the next term of government.

Developed in consultation with GEN VIC’s diverse membership base and grounded in our 2030 Strategic Plan, these election priorities set out four impactful actions to help turn that vision into reality.

Our platform calls for:

  • A dedicated Minister for Gender Equity
  • A new Gender Equality Strategy beyond 2027
  • Sustainable funding terms for services and systems change
  • Investment across all genders and life stages

At the current rate of progress, achieving gender equality remains more than a century away. With bold leadership, sustained investment and a clear plan for the future, the next elected Government has a powerful opportunity to help close that gap and accelerate progress for current and future generations.

We are calling on all parties to keep gender on the agenda to ensure we can continue building a gender equitable Victoria where all people can thrive.

We invite you to read the Election Priorities and join us in advocating for a strong, ambitious future for gender equality in Victoria.
