GEN VIC welcomes new Committee Chair

Gender Equity Victoria (GEN VIC) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Independent Chair for its Finance and Risk Committee, Ellen Webb.

“On behalf of the board, I am proud to welcome Ellen as our new Finance and Risk Committee Chair.” said Board Chair Julie Kun.

“The board is delighted to have someone with such a rich experience and skillset in finances as well as a passionate commitment to gender equity join and lead the FAR committee.”

“I also want to thank Leigh Svendsen, GEN VIC Deputy Chair who took on the role of FAR Chair whilst we undertook a recruitment process for the FAR Chair position.”

Ellen Webb is a respected executive and board member, with a wealth of experience and expertise in business transformation and strategic governance. She is renowned for her ability to steer organizations across diverse industries and structures, ensuring robust financial oversight and effective corporate governance.

As a qualified accountant and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), Ellen excels in preparing and presenting detailed financial reports and operational metrics to boards, thereby enhancing decision-making processes. Her extensive experience spans finance, investments, people and culture, IT, property management, risk management, and governance.

GEN VIC CEO Micaela Drieberg says she is looking forward to working with the additional skills and experience Ellen brings to compliment the recently expanded board.

“In order for GEN VIC to support a thriving gender equity movement we need to ensure our own foundations are in place. With the new mix of expertise overseeing our governance I am confident we will continue to grow and support our members with their own long-term sustainability.”
