GEN VIC welcomes new Directors

Gender Equity Victoria (GEN VIC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of three new Directors to the board. Sarah Carter, Lisa Heap and Khyashie Tilak Ramesh join the six existing Board Directors.

“The GEN VIC board underwent a thorough, rigorous board selection process and we were overwhelmed by the high calibre of applicants,” said Chair Julie Kun.

“On behalf of the board, I am delighted and proud to welcome Khayshie, Lisa and Sarah. Their expertise, skill and unwavering commitment to gender equity will undoubtedly strengthen Gender Equity Victoria as we progress our vision of a gender-equal society where all people can thrive.”

Sarah Carter is the Manager of the Australian Regional Leadership Initiative (ARLI) at Save the Children Australia and a long-serving Councillor and 3-time Mayor serving the Maribyrnong City Council.

Lisa Heap is a labour lawyer and researcher with a research focus on gender and inequalities at work, work health and safety and the regulation of work.

Khayshie Tilak Ramesh served two terms as the Multicultural Youth Commissioner of Victoria and currently serves on boards and committees including The Iceberg Foundation, Future Forte Australia, the Victorian Honour Roll of Women Assessment Panel and YWCA Australia.

CEO Micaela Drieberg says she is excited to be working with the expanded Board and what the addition of such strong, legal and community engagement expertise will be able to achieve.
