Gender Equity Victoria is pleased to announce the appointment of Michaela Drieberg as its Chief Executive Officer.
GEN VIC Chair Julie Kun welcomed Micaela Drieberg to the organisation saying, “I am confident Micaela has the skills, determination and experience to lead GEN VIC towards its vision of eradicating gender inequity in Victoria by building and working with a thriving gender equity movement. Everything I have seen and heard about Micaela points to her strong principles around collaboration: I know she can’t wait to meet our members, and our members can’t wait to meet Micaela in her role as GEN VIC CEO”.
Micaela, a committed feminist, is a strategic, collaborative leader with over 20 years of experience across for-purpose sectors, including all three levels of government, universities, not-for-profit organisations and peak bodies. Micaela has previously served as a Mayor and Ministerial Adviser and most recently was the Head of Government Relations and Partnerships with the Brave Foundation.
Micaela is excited to join GEN VIC and work with the board, members, and partners to advance gender equity in Victoria and believes, “to disrupt systems of gender inequities, we must apply intersectionality to our work. Factors such as age, ethnicity, disability, and where we live, work, learn and play shape people’s experience of gender and gender inequity. We have come a long way with gender equity, but there is still more work to be done”.
Micaela Drieberg will formally commence as CEO of GEN VIC on November 27th, 2023.
