We are devastated by the sudden death of one of our Board Directors, Cr Sarah Carter. 

Sarah joined the GEN VIC Board in May this year, but she has been a fierce advocate for gender equity for many years. This passion to see equality for our women and girls brought her to us and for that we will be eternally grateful. 

During her short time with us Sarah’s contributions to our organisation’s governance were significant. She participated in many meetings, attended events, championed our causes and she always, always made the time to recognize and amplify our work. 

We send our heartfelt condolences to Sarah’s family, partner and beloved Maribyrnong communities.  

Sarah gave so much to this world and she had so much more to give.  She has left her mark in our lives and hearts and we will make sure she remains visible and her legacy continues to contribute to a gender equal society where all people can thrive.
