#EverydayDad: Gender Equity Victoria’s 2026 Father’s Day Movement

This Father’s Day, Gender Equity Victoria (GEN VIC) is launching #EverydayDad, social media movement celebrating the everyday realities of fatherhood and encouraging dads to share the moments of parenting that often go unseen.

Research shows Aussie dads are more involved than ever before, but 54% said they don’t feel seen in their fatherhood. While workplaces and policies are becoming increasingly supportive of fathers, cultural attitudes haven’t always kept pace. Many dads still feel pressure to prioritise work over caregiving, hesitate to take parental leave, or feel uncomfortable making family responsibilities visible.

The cultural shift happens when dads see other dads doing it. So let’s showcase it.

We’re inviting our partners, members, and the entire wider community to join us. Share a short reflection, photo, or video about the everyday moments that define fatherhood, using #EverydayDad and tagging @genderequityvic.

We’ve created some Canva templates to drop photos in, but using these is optional. We hope you can join us in celebrating everyday fatherhood.
