There have been significant gains in women’s leadership across various sectors including representation on boards, with recognition programs supporting hundreds of women to step into leadership roles and be formally acknowledged for their achievements. Yet, we know that ongoing support is essential to achieving sustained outcomes for women leaders.  

To provide ongoing engagement opportunities for women in leadership, Gender Equity Victoria, in partnership with The Office for Women, is aiming to design, deliver and coordinate a pilot alumni program for government leadership program graduates and Honour Roll inductees from 2023 onwards. Programs include: 

• PACE (Participate, Advocate, Communicate, Engage) Leadership Program
• Joan Kirner Emerging Leaders Program 
• Women’s Board Leadership Program 
• Women Leading Locally 
• ECHO First Nations Women’s Leadership Program 
• Women of Colour Executive Leadership Program 
• Victorian Honour Roll of Women 

The Women’s Leadership Alumni Pilot Program aims to gather insights from alumni, program leads, and organisational sponsors through 1:1 interviews, focus groups, online surveys and an advisory group to design and pilot a comprehensive alumni engagement program to deliver enhanced opportunities for networking, learning, and professional development, while strengthening connections among women leaders.  

 

Events

Activities may include in-person and virtual networking events, mentoring opportunities, and webinars delivered by subject-matter experts. Pilot program activities will be held from October 2025 to June 2026.

The overarching aim of the initiative is to ensure that graduates of leadership programs remain connected, supported, and empowered, enabling them to drive meaningful change in their communities and workplaces.
